Well, we’ve made it to the holiday season again! It is easy to get stressed with everything that needs to be done and then forget why we celebrate these holidays, be it Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Boxing Day, or the New Year – to remember what we are grateful for.
Our team wanted to share some lovely things we are grateful for and enjoy doing in our community during the holiday season. Let us spread some cheer and share the love.
1) There are some wonderful and simple ways to give.
We believe in giving back, and we believe in sharing the love, especially with children. Please join us in supporting Toys for Tots, Saturday, December 8 from 10AM-1PM for hot cocoa, candy canes, pictures with Santa, and spread some Christmas Cheer. Please bring a new, unopened and unwrapped toy to donate.
2) Alexandria Holiday Events are the BEST!
There are so many things to do that are family friendly and support local businesses. Stop by Holiday on the Avenue in Del Ray, watch the 2018 Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights, or catch Santa on Water Skiis. These events are timeless and easily become family and community traditions. If you haven’t been – definitely go this year!
3) We won some lovely awards this year, and were nominated for some others.
We rang in 2018 by earning our way into the RE/MAX Chairman’s Club and RE/MAX Diamond Award. We are grateful to have been recognized as one of Washingtonian Magazine’s Best Real Estate Teams for 2018. We were also nominated for The Washington Blade’s Top Gay Realtor, and are currently in the running for Washington Magazine’s Poll for Best Realtor. You can still vote here! 4) Crumbs & Whiskers is a cat cafe and cat rescue we adore.
We visited Crumbs & Whiskers this year, and we loved it. We know you will, too. This nonprofit is making an impact on helping save cats from being euthanized and finding them homes. You can read more about our visit in our previous blog about it. (There are some amazingly cute pictures, too!)
5) Good news abounds!

We have shared two DC area charities you can share the love with this season, lots of fun holiday events, and a brief recap of some positive things we have accomplished this year. Now, we look towards 2019! There is a lot of opportunity on the horizon with Amazon announcing they will be opening their second headquarters in Crystal City.
